Ludmilla ended her collaboration with the record label Warner Music Brasil after 10 years. The singer had signed a contract at the time she signed her work as MC Beyoncé.
The singer will release her songs and albums through her own label, which is expected to be announced soon. Despite her search for independence, Ludmilla will still maintain a partnership with Warner for the distribution of her label, which may also include other artists.
“This new model of working with Ludmilla reflects the evolution of a long and successful partnership between us. Warner Music Brasil is happy to continue alongside the artist in this special moment of her career, just as we have always been,” said Leila Oliveira, president of the record company, in a statement.
It’s worth noting that the breakup happened without much discussion, but it marks a new era of autonomy in Ludmilla’s career. “We believe that this decision, taken by mutual agreement, is the best way to begin this new chapter with the artist, in the distribution of her songs,” added the president.
Crisis with the record company
In June last year, Ludmilla published a controversial post on social media that was interpreted as a swipe at Warner Music. Without mentioning the record company, the artist said that if she could give advice to the “Ludmilla of a few years ago”, the message would be “don’t sign this contract”.
The situation repeated itself this year, when the singer rushed the release of the album “Vilã” due to a marketing campaign and did not achieve the desired result. “It wasn’t the way I wanted, I trusted someone else and not my intuition,” Ludmilla complained.
He also said that he invested from his own pocket to record the first DVD of the “Numanice” project: “In the end, everyone wins. [a gravadora] more than me. I made this sacrifice for my dream. Now that I have succeeded in establishing myself, I will never leave the pagoda again.”
