Rapper of songs like “Levitating,” ROCKSTAR” It is “Suggest,” DaBaby made homophobic comments in 2021 and began to suffer reprisals, and lost US$160 million. For the singer, all this loss was a “blessing in disguise.”
Following the regrettable comments, the rapper showed no signs of trying to learn, improve and apologize to the people he offended. In February 2021, he made homophobic comments and spread misinformation about HIV/AIDS during a concert at Rolling Loud.
“If you didn’t show up today with HIV/AIDS, or any of those deadly sexually transmitted diseases that will make you die in two or three weeks,” he said. “Guys, if you’re not sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cell phone lights up. Keep it real, dammit.” Furthermore, he invited Tory Lanez on stage after he was arrested for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
Now, while participating in the podcast Club Shay Shay (via NME), DaBaby he was asked if he regrets anything in his career. “I wish I had told Rolling Loud that I missed my flight. I’ll send the money back, I missed my flight,” she replied.
Then the program presenter, ShannonSharpe, asked, “How different would your life have been if that moment hadn’t happened?” Then, DaBaby revealed to Sharpe how he lost almost US$200 million due to the controversy.
Where would I be mentally and spiritually if I wasn’t forced to sit down and reflect on myself? I hadn’t even sat down when it first happened, I was still fighting and fighting and fighting. Of course not, that’s not it. That’s not what it is.’
The rapper then explained how he “wasn’t happy as a person” with the abundance of money he had in his bank accounts: “I don’t regret anything I did. It’s so good to be able to say that and be honest. I probably already said this before, but I’m not serious.”
“I was like, ‘Man, I wish I had…$200 million, you guys robbed me.’ I don’t feel that way,” she continued. “I really feel like this is a blessing in disguise at this point in my life and I’ve come to that realization in the last two weeks. I really feel like I needed that season that I needed to endure.”
This will make me much happier as a person and much more of a man for the rest of my life… I love the space I’m in as a person.
