Ivete Sangalo will sing at Rock in Rio for the 18th time


The Rock in Rio organization has announced four new names of national artists in its 2024 edition. The announcement highlights the participation of Ivete Sangalo, who will sing at the festival for the 18th time.

In addition to participating in 5 editions of the national event, he also sang in all the countries where Rock in Rio was held, including 9 performances in Lisbon, 2 in Madrid and 1 in Las Vegas. In her last participation in Rock in Rio Lisboa, last year, she even called herself “Garota Rock in Rio”.

Paralamas do Sucesso also return to Rock in Rio. They were beginners when they first performed at the event in 1985, when Rock in Rio emerged as a cornerstone for the new generation of Brazilian rock. They subsequently performed a few more times, playing with Titãs in 2011 and most recently in 2019.

Along with Ivete and Paralamas, Jão and Gloria Groove, from The Town’s share of Rock in Rio 2024, have also been confirmed.

So far, the organization hasn’t revealed any big new names for the event. The artists revealed this Monday (12/4) join others previously announced by the organization, including Joss Stone, Lulu Santos, Ne-Yo and Ludmilla, who have performed at The Town this year, as well as Ed Sheeran and Imagine Dragons.

Event details

The festival will take place over two weekends, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21 and 22 September 2024, in Cidade do Rock, Rio de Janeiro.

The edition will mark the 40th anniversary of the festival and will have a new Mundo stage, a larger Sunset stage, a new area called Global Village and other new features.

The Rock in Rio Card passport sales are scheduled to begin on December 7, starting at 7:00 pm.
