Laine was also one of the founders of the rock group Moody Blues, which opened for the Beatles in the 1960s. This was how the musician met McCartney, who eventually invited Laine to form Wings together with Linda McCartney after releasing two solo albums.

He remained in the band until its end in 1981 and was featured on all seven albums released by the band. Among Wings’ most famous songs there are hits like Gang on the runwhich also gives its name to the album released in 1973, e Live and let dieof the same year.
