Kevinho made an emotional publication on Wednesday (12/6) dedicated to his mother, Sueli Azevedo, who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. On Instagram the artist posted an open letter set to music, where he shows the matriarch surprised by her honor.
“Open letter to my queen! I’ve always been the guy who hits. But there’s no hitting if you’re not there. I know I’m not well lately, but I can’t drop the ball for you. I know life is a giant wheel . At the top I stayed there for several years. I traveled the world, did several tours. I didn’t know what would happen,” he wrote, quoting the song’s lyrics.
“I know it’s strong to hold it. I know it’s my floor so I don’t slip. And I also know that if necessary, I’ll take it off mine just so I can give it to you. I remember what it was like today when you put on your bandana to get ready. Today you look beautiful in a turban. Not all queens wear a crown. And you are here to prove it. Because of one mistake, my world almost collapsed. My heart was pounding, my throat was cold.”
Kevinho then told what it was like to receive the news of the illness and deal with his mother’s fragility: “Unexpected news, it came without warning, we had to be strong when we saw you cry. Oh mother, I know”. that you will win this battle. You are much stronger than you can imagine. From your womb you generated my light. And your light today is what guides me. Sorry if the tears flow. And at every session I had to hold back. Today it just radiates well. Seeing you smile warms my heart. ‘Oh my,'” he concluded.
In Stories, Kevinho explained that he had to step away from social media to take care of his mother during treatment for her illness last year. The artist also stressed that Sueli’s reaction in the video posted to the feed is genuine, as she was listening to the song for the first time.
