The farewell

With the presentations, the farewell project for the Grave It will also produce a new album, in which the band has already started to take its first steps. At a press conference, the drummer Eloy Casagrande detailed more about the process:

It will be live, with 40 songs recorded in 40 different cities. Afterwards, there will be a top curation of this material, where we will listen to the good and bad things, and choose the ones that move us the most. Initially they will be released in blocks of 10 songs digitally, and then a vinyl box with 40 songs.

O Grave It’s a live band, about creating a connection with fans. At shows, you see the power on stage. It’s a good album to celebrate this moment, a very ambitious project, bringing us our best phase. It’s going to be amazing.”

The guitarist Andreas Kisser recognized the band’s relevance to the heavy metal scene in Brazil and the world, and thanked the fans for boosting the Grave to always leave the comfort zone and “build different things”.

Sepultura started when there was only vinyl, cassette and fax. We know all our idols. We take Brazilian metal to a very special place through records and elements of Brazilian music, incorporated into heavy metal“.

Regarding the decision to interrupt activities, Kisser states that it was a decision debated for two years, also always taken to the managers of each musician, taking into account that each one went through “several difficulties on and off the stage. We respect, admire each other and build the business together.”

We left the scene calmly, at peace with ourselves. I didn’t want to see the Grave ending a fight, or rehab, or getting too old to enjoy it. It hurts. It’s a beautiful story. That’s why we’re here stronger than ever. Special moment for us to stop.

But, this does not mean that the Grave go stop playing forever. “The future is open. The thing about ending doesn’t need to define me. In 10, 15 years, who knows what will happen? The possibilities are always open. But now, the time is to stop, celebrate and respect.
