Junior Lima made a loud explosion on the stage of “Domingão com Huck”, in the attraction broadcast on Sunday (10/12). The artist revealed that he developed panic syndrome after the end of the duo with Sandy Leah.
The brothers’ partnership ends after a twenty-year career, still at the height of success. “I went through a very difficult phase, in which I let emotions in. Until then I protected myself a lot and ignored what I felt,” Junior told the Sunday program.
At first the singer thought that he would get used to the new phase, but he suffered an emotional shock due to the absence of the routine with Sandy. I thought everything was fine, everything was always very good. I took it very lightly, thinking I wouldn’t feel the side effects. And then, when the duo ended, things were tough. Then I had a period of panic syndrome. I went through a very difficult time,” he stressed.
Junior tried to pursue a career in bands after the duo’s demise, without much success during this period. The artist, however, finally found the courage to face the solo journey: “I did a lot of analyses. Since then, I have done [esse tempo] have the courage to face a job like this, to do a job as a singer. I always ended up running away from that place a little bit.”
“In my other projects I have always been a musician, a producer. The singing part was a very small percentage. I didn’t want to be the protagonist. I was always behind some instrument, in a context where I felt more confident.”
The new phase of Junior
Junior Lima returned to his pop career with his new album “Solo – Vol. 1”, a title that has the double meaning of being his first solo work and treading already known ground. The album contains ten tracks, featuring Sandy and two songs by Xororó.
The album “Solo” was inspired by Sandy & Junior’s 30th anniversary tour, which became a Globoplay exclusive documentary after traveling to Brazil, New York and Portugal. The artist explained that he saw in “Our Story” the need to resume his career in order to feel complete.
Junior’s new project has already made his songs available on digital platforms.
