Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer in the 2000s
Kylie Minogue reflected on a period considered traumatic in an interview with CBS News (via NME). The singer was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and, after undergoing surgery and undergoing chemotherapy, she became free of the disease the following year.
It’s a trauma and any trauma lives with you. The experience of cancer will live with me. Was difficult. It was also amazing.
Asked why she defined the experience as “incredible”, Minogue said: “It’s amazing in the sense of how much you become aware of your body, about the love around you, about your ability, that kind of thing.”
“I sing to process everything, I think,” the singer added. “I write to process. I perform to process. And sometimes I think I live to perform.”
Kylie completed 35 years since the release of the single “Locomotion” and released the 16th studio album, Voltagein 2023.
