Actor Ryan Gosling posted a clip featuring a Christmas version of “I’m Just Ken,” a song from the “Barbie” soundtrack. In the video posted on YouTube, he appears singing the song alongside musician and producer Mark Ronson and a full band in a studio decorated with a Christmas theme.
The detail is that even in the studio the actor does not give up sunglasses and explains: “The world can have Ken’s voice, but only Barbie can have his eyes”.
“Merry Christmas Barbie, wherever you are,” he adds at the end of the show.
The Christmas version, which is reminiscent of a song by a 1960s girl group, will be included on an EP with two other versions of the song, one acoustic and the other dance.
“I’m Just Ken” competes for the Golden Globe for best song and is unlikely to be excluded from the selection for best original song at the 2024 Oscars.
