This week, The Walt Disney Company celebrates 100 years of telling magical stories. In such a way that it is celebrating beloved characters, big-screen adventures, unforgettable experiences, and the audiences and filmmakers who made it all possible. Thus, Inspired by the legacy of Walt Disney, Wish: The Power of Wishes from Walt Disney Animation Studios, which opens in theaters on January 4, presents a new story with never-before-seen characters. Plus, seven original songs written by the Grammy®-nominated singer-songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy®-winning producer, songwriter and musician Benjamin Rice.
To start the countdown to the film’s debut, a new trailer. So in it, we see the singer Ariana DeBose singing “This Wish” – a song that is part of the film’s soundtrack – and the poster for Wish: The Power of Wishes are now available. The new animated feature film premieres exclusively in theaters on January 4, 2024.
History
Wish: The Power of Wishes, from Walt Disney Animation Studios, welcomes audiences to the Magical Kingdom of Roses, where Asha, a spirited young dreamer, makes a wish so powerful that it is fulfilled by a cosmic force: a small sphere of energy called the Star. So, together, Asha and Estrela face a formidable enemy, the Magnificent King, ruler of Rosas, to save their community and prove that when the will of a brave person unites with the magic of the stars, wonderful things can happen.
Featuring the English voices of Ariana DeBose like Asha, Chris Pine as the Magnificent King and Alan Tudyk as Valentino, Asha’s favorite goat, the film is directed by the Oscar® winner Chris Buck (FROZEN A FREEZING ADVENTURE; Frozen 2) It is Fawn Veerasunthorn (RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON), made by Peter Del Vecho (FROZEN A FREEZING ADVENTURE; Frozen 2) It is Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster Jones (CHARM). Jennifer Lee (FROZEN A FREEZING ADVENTURE; Frozen 2) is the executive producer, and is also responsible for the script alongside Allison Moore (night sky, Manhunt).
