A samba plot that Marcelo Adnet helped compose for Carnival 2024 has gone viral and reached 1st place on Spotify Viral Rio: “Pede Caju Que Dou… Pé de Caju Que Dá!”, which will make Mocidade Independente de tremble Father Miguel during Rio de Janeiro Carnival has already become a popular success.
The music and lyrics are by Marcelo Adnet, Diego Nicolau, Paulinho Mocidade, Richard and Cabeça do Ajax. The plot tells the story of Caju, with references to Brazilian modernism, but its success is due to the double meaning lyrics, which include phrases like “The pure juice of the fruit of my love/It’s sensual, this feverish delirium”.
On Spotify, sambao overtook several trap and funk hits among popular songs in Rio de Janeiro, becoming one of the most listened to songs during Rio’s New Year.
