The singer revealed in a podcast that she prefers to focus on her acting career: “I never intended to become a full-time singer”
According to the magazine Rolling Stone, Selena used to enjoy releasing music and touring, but now she’s feeling tired. “I started having a lot of fun with music and touring,” she said. “But I was doing my own TV show [Os Feiticeiros de Waverly Place, de 2007] at the same time and I thought it was really funny, so I continued. But the older I get, the more I think: ‘I would like to establish myself,'” she revealed, specifying that she only wants to dedicate herself to one niche.
However, he confessed his desire to release another album. “I feel like I still have an album to make, but I would probably choose acting. I want to relax because I’m tired,” she said.
Selena took stock of her difficult moments, which impacted her career. “I went to a mental institution and canceled one of my trips. It affected me because I love working, it distracts me from bad things.”
She then confessed that focusing entirely on her singing career was not in her plans. “I wanted to be an actress, I never intended to be a singer full time, but apparently that hobby turned into something else,” she added. “I don’t consider myself the best singer, but I know how to tell stories and I love being able to write songs,” she confesses.
He also referenced Disney, who launched his music career, like a “machine”: “They know how to package someone up and present them as a triple threat.”
Selena Gomez’s last EP was the Revelation, from 2021, in which he invests in songs sung in Spanish. In August 2022 she released the track Single soon.
