In partnership with the MyFrenchFilmFestival — international online festival of French-language films — a MUBI prepared an exclusive program with five titles that make up the film exhibition. The 14th edition of the festival takes place between January 19th and February 19th. Check out the films that will be part of the collection From France with Love:
Jane B. by Agnès V. (Jane B par Agnès V – Agnès Varda, 1988)
A touching portrait of Jane Birkin, who died in 2023, made from several fictions over different seasons. On the eve of turning 40, Jane B. allowed the Agnès Varda filmed her while playing different roles and “Janes”, including Jane of Arc, Calamity Jane, Tarzan’s Jane and the muse of Gainsbourg.

Junkyard Dog (Chien de la Casse – Jean-Baptiste Durand, 2023)
In this comedy drama, childhood friends Dog and Mirales live in a village in the south of France and don’t have much to do. Annoying Dog is Mirales’ favorite pastime. But when Elsa arrives, summer takes a different turn. Love blossoms between Elsa and Dog, while jealousy eats away at Mirales.

My Sole Desire (À Mon Seule Désir – Lucie Borleteau, 2022)

The Beast in the Jungle (La Bête dans la Jungle – Patric Chiha, 2023)
The drama is a free adaptation of the novel of the same name by Henry James, from 1903. Over the course of 25 years, in a huge nightclub, a man and a woman wait for a mysterious event. From 1979 to 2004, amidst the evolution from disco music to techno, a story of love and obsession unfolds.
