The singer took to the stage after Leo Santana’s show to perform a nostalgic show. The audience embraced him
Fuck you at the Salvador Summer Festival it could have been the show in the right place – after all, Caetano Veloso created the legendary album after a brief visit to Bahia during his exile in London – but at the wrong time.
Caetano entered the Festival stage around 0:30. Immediately after the apotheotic show of Leo Santana, the king of the Bahian pagodão.
The disc Fuck you It’s the epitome of Santana’s party vibe. It’s introspective, nostalgic. Touch the melancholy.
But Caetano is Caetano. Especially in Bahia. He imposed the ‘silence’ necessary for the festival to listen to similar songs You not me, Mary Bethany AND It’s a long road. All the songs in the script were sung by the audience. Also The Empty Boatthat neither Fuck you AND.
Caetano strictly followed the itinerary presented in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. He resisted the temptation to include some of his hits to please the festival audience who attended performances by Glória Groove and Thiaguinho on the same day.
Even if it is symbolic to see Caetano remember Fuck you. Also due to the presence of musicians who played on the LP recording in 1972, Jards Macalé, Tutty Moreno and Aureo de Souza – bassist Moacyr Albuquerque died in 2020.
However, the show Fuck you, which Caetano had sworn not to remake – it was conceived for a single performance at the Doce Maravilha festival, in 2023 – does not seem to please or cheer Caetano up much. That’s why he’s reluctant to turn it into a tour.
Caetano has his reasons.

Gloria Groove succeeds in a show focused on the music and voice of Péricles
Second attraction of the last day of the Salvador Summer Festival, the singer Glória Groove left aside a certain megalomania of sets and props as she did in the show she performed at The Town, in September 2023.
Without many distractions – for her and the audience – her funk-infused pop music stood out, especially because she had the support of a well-connected band. The singer saw the audience singing similar songs Auction , Red AND The fall.
With the singer Péricles, his guest, he sang a version of Very happy, by Stevie Wonder, in a duet previously made for television. Péricles, an excellent and intelligent singer, has shown that he can handle his great voice very well in different genres.
In an emotional moment for both of us, Angelfrom the repertoire of the Roupa Nova group, was another that combined the voices of Glória and Péricles.
It lit up. When the show ended, the audience was left asking for more.
Thiaguinho took his pagoda and made room for Maria Rita’s samba
Exploded on the market thanks to his project Afternoonwhich filled stadiums across the country, Thiaguinho finally made his debut as an attraction at the Summer Festival.
Upon entering the soil of the Bahian pagodão, the singer felt confident in a repertoire of hits, such as Audacity and joy, I miss you, Bouquet AND Powerful.
When he calls Maria Rita on stage, he repeats a pagoda version of the waltz Charm which they recorded together for the project My name is Thiago Andréthey exchanged affinities and compliments.
Later they left room for samba in songs like Brave boy, I will celebrate AND Advise.
Lulu Santos praises partnership with Grabriel, O Pensador: “It took a while to find someone who really paid”
For the fourth time at the Festival, Lulu joked that it was fate and not an accident to be called to the event.
The singer and songwriter usually has no problem wowing audiences, as he has a list of hits.
He sang them all. There was no way to go wrong: The ultimate romantic, This is how humanity walks AND All blue.
Bringing something new was Gabriel, the Thinker, his guest.
“It took me a while to find an artistic partnership that really paid off,” Lulu said.
The thinker showed Maresia 2 , a song he recently released with rapper Xamã and Lulu. The Indian is now a chief and the lyrics address issues such as the polarization of the country, violence, the demarcation of indigenous lands and medicinal cannabis.
When you sing honeymoonLulu changed the lyrics to pay homage to her friend for whom she gave some hits, the singer Gal Costa.
“I live in a piece of heaven, listening to Gal Costa,” he sang.
Daniela Mercury keeps her promise to exalt Ilê Aiyê
In an interview with Estadao days before her performance at the festival, Daniela had said that her show, which featured Ilê Aiyê and singer Margareth Menezes as guests, would feature the Afro block.
Wearing a red dress, Daniela entered the stage to sing The corner of the city as if announcing that the colors of Salvador were those of Ilê, born 50 years ago in the capital of Bahia.
When you sing The most beautiful of the beautifula song that is on her 1993 album and talks about Ilê, Daniela gave the cue to the percussion and dancers of the block to enter the scene.
Daniela not only worshiped or used the touch and dance of the block, but invited everyone to be protagonists, occupying the center of the stage and the catwalk leading to the audience.
Graça Onasilê and Juarez, Ilê’s singers, had their solo moments.
Margareth Menezes entered the stage dressed in yellow, another color present in the group. More at ease than in January 2023, when she had just taken over the leadership of the Ministry of Culture, she missed the Bahia carnival – to which she will return this year – with successes Pharaoh deity, Black race AND Dandalunda.
In the end, Daniela, Margareth and Ilê ended the show together, in a message that Afro groups like Ilê, who provided ruler and compass for the Bahian Carnival, also deserve a leading role in the festivities.
