Djavan releases his 25th album and a vinyl version in celebration of his 75th birthday. “D” is a special production, having been written during the period of isolation during the pandemic “a proposal for happiness, for the future, for hope” is how the artist describes it. Initially released in 2022, the album now has its unprecedented version on vinyl, in partnership with the record label Rocinante Three Seals. Sales started this Monday, 29th, through the website www.rocinantetresselos.com.
The album called “D” is a highlight in the career of the artist from Alagoas, written in 2021 and the mixing completed in 2022, eight of the twelve tracks that make up the album were written in São Miguel dos Milagres, the artist’s hometown.

Djavangathered in the studio At home, in Rio de Janeiro, several artists who accompanied him at different stages of his career. Between them: Paulo Calasans, Torcuato Mariano, Carlos Bala, Marcos Suzano, Arthur de Palla, Marcelo Martins, Jessé Sadoc, Marcelo Mariano, Max Viana, Renato Fonseca and João Castilho. The musician and trombonist Rafael Rocha joins the team for the first time.
The album’s first single, “In a World of Peace”brings Djavan singing, asking for brighter times: “and may we laugh at everything again and may life be long and everything, in a world of peace”. The second single, “Destroyed Beauty”is a duet with Milton Nascimento.
“We’ve known each other for a long time, but we’re very shy and never had the initiative to get closer to each other.[…] I made a song with a theme that both of them are familiar with, I’ve always been concerned about nature, and so has he, and I sent him the song. He loved it, he thought it was beautiful. He came here to the studio and we recorded. It was an afternoon of great joy, happiness and love. I was able to tell him what I had never said before.” Djavan to the portal Splash/Uol.
Djavan is one of the most well-known and influential artists in Brazilian music, standing out in his tracks “Nada Mais Sou”, “At Least Um Porto” and “Ridículo”. Track “Eh! Eh!”a collaboration with Zeca Pagodinhowas first interpreted by Alcyone in the album “Eternal Joy”. The album also features “First Road”, “You Can Be an Actress” and “Almost Fantasy”.
“Illuminated”the last track on the album “D”. In it, Djavan brings together his five children and two grandchildren in harmony, all contributing guitar, percussion, cajon and ukulele. The album design was created by Giovanni Biancoknown for having worked alongside Madonna, Ivete Sangalo, Anitta, Ludmilla, as well as several renowned brands and magazines.
The album tour “D” It began in March 2023 in Maceió and continues with dates scheduled in several cities in Brazil and also in Portugal.
The exclusive and limited version of “D” double vinyl is available for purchase only on the project website Rocinante Three Seals. The LP features a gatefold cover and includes a text written by journalist and writer Bento Araujo, known for his series of books “Beautiful Delirious Dream”.
