You Pet Shop Boys announced the release of a new album, Nonetheless, and released the first single, “Loneliness”. The album arrives on April 26th and is the first since 2020, when the duo released Hot spot. The production of the project was the responsibility of James Ford.

We wanted this album to be a celebration of the unique and diverse emotions that make us human. From the more dance-oriented tracks to the poetic rawness of the introspective ballads, with their beautiful string orchestrations, each track tells a story and contributes to the overall narrative of the album.
We are very excited to release this new album. Its 10 tracks are the strongest indicators of where we are today. Like much of our music, it’s very reflective. It was great to work with James Fordwhich we think brought new elements to our music.
Our demos are sometimes quite complicated, and James dared to make us a little more minimalist at times — but also, the string orchestrations are very beautiful. Some of the album is quite moving, but we hope much of it is also inspiring. It’s an album we’re very proud of.
