Tour will pass through São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Porto Alegre and Ribeirão Preto in the last performances of his career on Brazilian soil

Fans of good old Rock’n Roll can now celebrate: another big name in international music will land on Brazilian soil in the coming months: the Californian band Oingo Boingo Former Membersformed by 5 original members of Oingo Boingo, successful in the 80s and 90s and owner of hits such as “Stay”, “Just Another Day”, “Dead Man’s Party”, among others, is back in Brazil after a 29-year hiatus in her career, for some farewell performances . The trajectory of Oingo Boingo was marked by a unique blend of rock, new wave, ska and theater elements, combined with clever and eccentric lyrics. Formed in 1972 by Danny Elfman, Richard Elfman, Johnny “Vatos” Hernandez, Sam “Sluggo” Phipps, Carl Graves, Steve Bartek It is John Avilathe band released their self-titled debut album in 1981.

In the following years, he released albums such as Nothing to Fear (1982), Good for Your Soul (1983) and Dead Man’s Party (1985), the latter being the most critically acclaimed and containing the great success “Weird Science”. The song “Dead Man’s Party” was also featured in the popular film Back to the future (1985). With a loyal West Coast following, Oingo Boingo was honored by the City of Los Angeles when the City Council designated April 20, 2016, as the official “Oingo Boingo Day” in Los Angeles, CA.

Even during his stay in the country, Oingo Boingo participated in the soap opera TOP Model and featured songs on the soundtrack of the 1995 phenomenon.

In the same year, the band decided to end its activities and the members followed other paths. But, to the delight of fans, last year they came up with a new project and decided to perform the last performances of their career with the tour Oingo Boingo Former Members in South America, bringing the original members of the acclaimed band, except Danny Elfman. In the repertoire, “Dead Man’s Party”, “Weird Science”, “We Close Our Eyes”, “Only a Lad”, “Just Another Day”, “Stay”, “Out Of Control”, “Who Do You Want To Be”, “Gratitude”, “Private Life” are confirmed in the setlist.

The band celebrates this moment with confirmed shows in the cities of São Paulo (Espaço Unimed), Rio de Janeiro (Qualistage), Curitiba (Teatro Positivo), Porto Alegre (Teatro Araújo Viana) and Ribeirão Preto (location to be confirmed).
