Brazilians were concentrated in the Best Latin Jazz Album category
O Grammys 2024 takes place this Sunday, 4th, in Los Angeles. The ceremony — which will be broadcast from 9:30 pm on HBO Max — represents the opportunity for some artists to win their first Grammyas Lana Del Rey It is Miley Cyrus.
Brazilians were not left out of the competition, but were concentrated in the Best Latin Jazz Album category. Ivan Lins competes with My Heart Speaks (2023), Eliane Elias with Quietude (2022), and Luciana Souza & Trio Corrente with Comet (2023).
It’s the first time Lins at the Grammybut he was nominated numerous times for Latin Grammywinning the award in 2005, in the Album of the Year and Best Brazilian Popular Music Album categories, with Singing Stories (2004). In 2009 and 2015, he also won the Latin Grammy for Best Brazilian Popular Music Album.
Elijah has already taken the famous gramophone home twice, in the category of Best Latin Jazz Album, in 2016 and 2017, with Made in brazil (2015) and Dance of Time (2017), respectively.
O Current Trio was awarded in 2014, in the category of Best Jazz Album, with Song for Maura (2013), partnership with Paquito D’Rivera. Luciana Souzain turn, received a total of eight nominations for Grammywhich won the Album of the Year award in 2008, with River: The Joni Letters (2007), in partnership with Herbie Hancock.
