The rapper Killer Mike was escorted out of the Grammy wearing handcuffs, last Sunday, 4. According to the TMZ, he was detained after a “physical altercation” with a security guard at the event, who reportedly didn’t get out of his way quickly. The musician was charged with a misdemeanor and released four and a half hours later.

In an interview with Pitchfork (via NME), the rapper clarified: “I would like to note that last night, my team and I fielded several calls from concerned fans and colleagues wanting to know if I was okay. I very much appreciate the concern and support, but I am more than that’s good.”

“As you can imagine, there was a lot going on and there was some confusion about which door my team and I should enter. We had an overzealous security guard, but my team and I have the utmost confidence that in the end I will be absolved of any error “, he added.

Mike also spoke about prison during the program Big Tigger Morning Show: “We had a mishap and then we went back to the party, man,” he added. “We partied all night. Nothing happened, man. But we’re winners. That’s it.”
