The instrument was used in the recordings of songs such as ‘Love Me Do’ and ‘Twist and Shout’ and will return to the former Beatle’s hands after being restored
Paul McCartney announced, through its website, that the iconic Höfner 500/1 bass, sought after last year in the project The Lost Bass Project, it has been found. The instrument, used in the recordings of the band’s first two albums, Beatles, was stolen in October 1972 and was considered the artist’s favorite. “Paul is extremely grateful to everyone involved,” the website states.
“We thank all those who helped us in the research, who sent us clues and ideas and supported us. Thank you all. We did it!”, concludes the project website, in a note on the return of the instrument to artist.
