Lionel Richie Regrets Not Including Madonna in ‘We Are The World’

Last Friday (16th), the R&B legend, the singer Lionel Richie was interviewed on the Jimmy Kimmel program to promote the documentary about the recording of We are the World.

Lionel reflected on the choice to include Cyndi Lauper instead of Madonna In the song. “We only had half a verse to sing, so we had to have voices that people would recognize the moment they heard it,” he has declared.

“The point is: you have to have a recognizable voice. For some reason, Cindy had her ‘wewewe’ and that was it.”He explained.

For the presenter, not having asked Madonna to sing the song was a “mistake” and Lionel agreed with him. “Are you sure”he concluded.
