Death of Chester Bennington

On July 20, 2017, Chester Bennington, lead singer of the band Linkin Park, was found dead in his home in California after committing suicide, aged 41. Bennington, who had six children, was found by an employee at his home with a belt tied around his neck. After the singer’s death, the band’s future was uncertain.

The musician has struggled with drugs and alcohol for years. In 2016 he stated in an interview that he had already thought about suicide because he had suffered sexual abuse as a child.
