Natiruts announce their farewell with the final tour of their career

The reggae band will leave the scene with one last tour in Brazil, after 18 years of activity

The band Natiruts has announced that it will end its activities after the “Leve com Você” tour, which will visit 18 Brazilian cities. The number coincides with the number of years of his musical career. The first show will take place on June 8, in Brasilia, and the last on December 7, in Belém.

“The band should have ended by now. There were six of us and in the end there were two of us left. […] It was a very honest thing for me. There comes a time when you’ve already said everything about a topic. I decided to follow my own path and the band talked about it,” said singer Alexandre Carlo.

The legacy of the Natirut

Formed in Brasilia in 1996, the reggae band has left a significant legacy in Brazilian music. With hits such as “Liberdade pra Dentro da Cabeça” (1998), “Deixa o Menino Jogar” (1997), “Quero Ser Feliz Also” (2006) and “Presente de um Beija-flor” (1997), the band scored a generation. “We left a legacy to our generation and to Brazilian music. […] The fans may be a little sad, but I wanted to say that this sadness can become a beautiful memory”, continued Alexandre Carlo.

Honors and awards

Throughout its history, Natiruts have received two Latin Grammy nominations. The latest occurred in 2021, with the song “Lágrimas de Alegria”, in collaboration with Maneva, in the Best Portuguese Language Song category. The first nomination for the award occurred in 2013, when the album “Natiruts Acústico no Rio de Janeiro” was nominated for best contemporary pop album. Furthermore, the album “Natiruts Reggae Brasil” won DVD Gold in 2016.
