Singer’s statement at a show this week could point to a possible future for the alternative rock band
Courtney Love gave a new statement, pointing to a possible meeting of the Holethe alternative rock band that catapulted her in the early 1990s.
The affirmative occurred in Londonon the last Tuesday (27)when Love made an appearance on the The Coverupscover band Billie Joe Armstrong (green Day). After taking the stage and performing some songs, the singer took the microphone before saying goodbye to say:
“And then… I’ll go back to the Hole.”
The statement follows a long debate about the possibility of returning to the group’s original lineup, which still includes guitarist Eric Erlandsonthe bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur and the drummer Patty Schemel.

Responsible for most of Hole’s discography, the quartet ended up splitting up at the turn of the 2000s, performing together only on one occasion, in April 2012 (via Loudwire).
Since then, the possibility of a return to the original lineup has gone back and forth. In 2021, a statement from Courtney Love would throw cold water on the topic. In an interview with Vogueshe said:
“No, absolutely not. And you guys need to get over it. Our old agent Peter Mensch calls us once a year to ask about a reunion: ‘Hey, I’m just doing my job, and I do it every year with you guys and Jimmy Page. [do Led Zeppelin]’. And I’m honored to be in good company, but it’s just not going to happen.”
In the same interview, she reinforced how good her relationship is, especially with Melissa, while Eric would have left the scene, perhaps to become a monk in Japan.
Hole and 30 years of Live Through This

Since 1991, Hole has released four albums – their latest, Nobody’s Daughter, in 2010, only with Love from the original quartet. The group’s biggest success, the album Live Through Thisturns 30 in April 2024.
