Other new features of the festival, which will take place from 13 to 22 September, are the Brazilian singer Matuê and the Swedish singer Zara Larsson
OR Rock in Rio announced on Friday 29th the new names for the commemorative edition of the 40th anniversary of the festival. One of these is that of the American rapper Travis Scottone of the leading artists of the global rap/hip-hop scene who will be the main attraction of Palco Mundo on September 13th.
Nominated eight times for a Grammy, Scott has gained notoriety for albums such as Astroworld, 2018 and Utopia, released in 2023, and for his partnerships with artists like The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake and Beyoncé. This will be Scott’s second time in the country: he has already performed here in 2022, at Primavera Sound, in Sao Paulo.
On the same day 13, the singer and composer from Ceará will open the Palco Mundo Mature. The show will feature the Brazilians Teto and Wiu. The three released the track together Spatial flow.
In the program of the 14th the novelty is the American rock band A Republicsongs like Counting stars AND Excuse meand Swedish pop singer Zara Larssonknown for her collaboration with DJ David Guetta on the track About my love. They will join Lulu Santos and Imagine Dragons, attractions previously announced for that day.
Other names already confirmed for the festival are Ed Sheeran, Joss Stone, Katy Perry, Gloria Gaynor, Ivete Sangalo, Jão, Gloria Groove, Iza, among others.
This year Rock in Rio will take place on September 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21 and 22 in Cidade do Rock, Rio de Janeiro. The event’s production team expects to receive an audience of 700,000 people for this edition.
