Last Thursday (7), Shawn Mendes was announced as the headliner of Rock in Rio. The announcement marks the return to the stage of the singer who had taken a break to look after his mental health.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve played live and I’m so excited to share that I’ll be headlining Rock In Rio on September 22nd,” he said on Instagram.
“I really missed being on stage and seeing you in person!” said Shawn, who hasn’t been on stage since 2022, when he canceled his Wonder Tour performances.
“I’m also working on a new album and I can’t wait to play these new songs live for you guys. See you there. Love you!!!!” finished.
It is worth mentioning that Shawn Mendes’ last visit to the country took place in 2019, when the artist performed in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, with the Shawn Mendes: The Tour. The second date in the capital of Sao Paulo had to be canceled a few hours before the show due to the singer’s health problems.
