Some incredibly talented directors have been raiding the movie scene lately and Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are definitely part of that group. The duo have been making films for a few years, but they really hit big when they made bad guys for life. More recently, they entered the superhero genre with Marvel Studios. Mrs. Wonder (which is currently available for those who have Disney + subscriptions ). And even before the show premiered, they had already been chosen to lead Warner Bros. and DC Films. bad girl. The two comic book adaptations certainly have their similarities and differences, but how exactly do they compare? Well, El Arbi and Fallah talked about it.
Kamala Khan and Barbara Gordon look a bit alike. They are both capable young women, eager to fight for good and passionate about protecting their respective cities. However, they both have different power sets, with Khan being more energy based (in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) and Gordon being more dependent on her fighting skills and gadgets than she is. When I spoke to Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah at the press conference for Marvel Studios’ latest television adventure, I couldn’t help but wonder how the series has influenced their approach to the next DC movie. . In response, El Arbi provided insight into the other factors that came into play in the pair of productions:
Batgirl was that origin story, as was Ms. Marvel. I mean these two characters, we start with them from the beginning and then you have the responsibility that you have to take on. And it’s been interesting to see how you have to design a character that you care about and relate to, even if they end up in these extraordinary circumstances. But of course Ms. Marvel is a teenager, it is in this colorful world of animation that she has been put to her. And Batgirl is in Gotham City with a little bit of darkness and more seriousness as an adult and [Kamala Khan’s] a teenager, and you really have the spectrum. But there are many similarities between the two.
These comments suggest that the directors understand what it takes for the two beloved comic book characters. For example, in the case of Mrs. Wondera lighter touch was needed, and this is something many apparently appreciated the critically acclaimed MCU show . On the other hand, it seems bad girl will be a little more mature, which makes sense considering you are dealing with a story set in Gotham City involving the Evil Firefly, played by Brendan Fraser .
Not much is known about specific plot details when it comes to the DC Comics adaptation, but trivia that have been abandoned so far heralds a story that will stay true to the source material. Before The film directed by Leslie Grace was completed in April , dropped the first look at her exact cartoon costume . The film will also be seen The Return of Commissioner Gordon by JK Simmons which will show a paternal side that was not evident in Justice League.
Although the directors’ latest comic book adventure is set in the DC universe, they still hope to get more work done in the MCU. in reality released future Marvel concerts for themselves during our conversation, including an X-Men movie and a live-action movie starring Spider-Man’s Miles Morales iteration. Personally, I think they would be perfect for both properties.
Their next superhero project doesn’t look set in stone yet, but I’m sure they’ll have more opportunities to create comic book features. Before that, I’m curious to see what they do with it bad girl and the Mrs. Wonder season finale in a few weeks.
Mrs. Wonder releasing new episodes on Disney + (opens in a new tab) every Thursday as part of the TV program 2022 . During, bad girl will arrive on HBO Max, but a release date has yet to be announced.
