On May 22nd, one of the main stories involving the Bitcoin turns 13 years old. Thus, the event is seen as one of the most important, and consequently, of blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency market. In this way, the event became a celebration: the Bitcoin Pizza Dayon the date on which the first exchange of cryptocurrency for two products took place.
On this same day in 2010, a cryptocurrency enthusiast bought two pizzas with Bitcoin. That became the first purchase made with the currency. And if today it would be possible to buy a pizza for a tiny fraction of a bitcoin, at the time they cost much more: 10,000 bitcoins, equivalent to just over US$40 at the time and more than US$270 million at the current price.
