A revived series
On April 21, 2022, the research unit bowed out with its final episode airing on TF1. At least that’s what we thought. Because the Xavier Deluc-helmed detective series, which has been in the channel’s heyday for almost 14 years, is actually back on the air. The decision, of course, was driven by the viewership for “The Finale,” which drew an average of 5.07 million viewers.
Bernier’s team then returned in 2024 for two 52-minute episodes, dubbed Mortelle ramble and filmed on Reunion Island. It was then that production flew to Martinique to film the new bonus, the 12th passenger.
Finally, on October 23, 2025, TF1 aired Neige Sang, a 45-minute 2-episode unit. This time, no more sun and beautiful sandy beaches, head for the mountains and their freezing temperatures. While on winter sports vacation, Bernier enjoys the company of Lucas, Jean and Vicky. But the rest is short-lived when a corpse is discovered at the foot of a charming church in the village of Boneval-sur-Arc.
Is part four possible?
Can quest fans hope for a fourth bonus? We imagine this is quite possible if Neige Sang’s audience is satisfactory.
according to pure mediaThe TF1 series topped the Thursday night audience with an average of 2.94 million viewers across two episodes: “This is equivalent to 17.6% of the public watching TV and 12.2% of women responsible for purchasing under the age of 50 (FRDA-50).”. A good score, but lower than Passenger 12, which drew 3.70 million viewers.
Will that be enough for the channel to greenlight a sequel? Either way, production already has an idea of the next destination where Bernier and his team will be packing their bags, as confirmed. These words from Xavier Deluc were reported by our colleagues from Télé Loisirs : “Conditional, shooting would be planned for the spring of 2026 in Corsica. It would focus quite a lot on Jeanne and her family situation. There should also be a young gendarme who will have an important part, but I don’t know the name of the actor at the moment.”
