Malcolm: New photo from filming revealed, fans don’t recognize Reese’s translator!

We’ll have to wait a while to discover the first glimpse of Dewey in new episodes of Malcolm. This iconic character from the iconic series will definitely be changing its cast following the decision of its original interpreter, Eric Peer Sullivan, not to take on the role, which is now played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.

In the Malcolm series, the brothers found each other again

This is the only cast change, all the cast members of the show have agreed to appear in these new episodes. This obviously applies to Frankie Muniz, the title character’s translator, or even Bryan Cranston, who plays his father Hal (let’s not forget that Malcolm’s character’s last name is unknown; will it be revealed in the new season?).

Frankie Muniz, who is very active on social networks, does not miss out on brief reviews of the filming of this sequel. Thus, the new photo allowed us to discover him in the company of two other actors of the program: Internet users were able to discover the unrecognizable features of Frances (played by Christopher Masterson) and also Justin Barefield (who plays Reese).

“I was asked to post it later, but I listened to the song and I was too excited to watch the new episodes and miss my brothers.”

What happened to Reese’s translator after the end of the series?

It’s been almost twenty years since the last episode of Malcolm aired. At that time, Justin Burfield was only twenty years old, so now he is twice that age. Although she was cautious after the program ended, she still remained involved in the entertainment industry.

Acting aside (aside from brief and infrequent appearances), Reese’s interpreter moved into production. We especially owe him co-production of Romance & Cigarettes, John Turturro’s third film, with Kate Winslet and James Gandolfini.

New episodes of the sequel to the cult series, titled Malcolm: Life’s Stills Fair, will be broadcast exclusively on Disney+ in spring 2026.
