All you need is hot water and a product that you probably already use for another purpose.
It is curious that the tool we use to clean the house is often one of the dirtiest in the house. Soap residue, limestonefluff, bacteria…AND that unpleasant musty smell that no air purifier can mask.
But there is a quick and effective trick to make your mop look like new again, without scrubbing or struggling: a simple dishwasher tablet is enough.
Makeup that cleans itself
The process is very simple: all you need is a clean bucket, boiling water and a dishwasher tablet (yes, the same one you use in the dishwasher). First, separate the mop from the handle and place it inside the bucket.
Then, add the tablet on top and pour boiling water until it covers the cloth. Gently stir the mop in the water, pulling on the plastic handle so that the detergent is evenly distributed along the fringes.
Then leave to act for about 15 minutes. During this time, the disinfectant and degreasing components of the tablet will do the heavy lifting, eliminating dirt and bacteria without you having to touch anything.
Finally, rinse the cloth under running water and place it back in the holder. Leave it to dry upside down, preferably in a well-ventilated place, and it will be clean, odorless and ready to use.
