Boy launches Caribbean-flavoured panettone after the success of the Easter eggs; see the price





Garoto has decided to transform one of its greatest classics into a Christmas flavour: the Caribe panettone, new for this end of the year. The brand is betting that the launch will follow the same successful path as the candy-inspired Easter egg, which sold out on shelves in 2024.

Made with naturally fermented dough, the panettone features pieces of dried banana and a creamy filling, reminiscent of the tropical flavor that has made the Caribbean an icon of the brand. According to the company, the creation is a direct response to the public: in the last two years consumers have indicated the flavor as one of the most desired in the tablet and panettone versions, representing 41% of requests for new flavours.

Present in the Garoto portfolio since the 1980s, Caribe remains among the best-selling chocolates in the manufacturer’s shop in Vila Velha (ES), with a production of up to 1 ton per month. The performance of the Caribe Easter Egg, which sold out in just a few weeks last year, has led the company to triple production by 2025. The success has also crossed borders: the product is exported to Japan, where it is a hit among the Dekassegues, a community of Brazilian descendants who still find exclusive versions of the bonbon in special boxes and chocolate bars.

“Bringing the brand into the 2025 panettone portfolio was a direct response to consumer demands. Our panettones are inspired by the Nestlé and Garoto chocolate portfolio and aim to bring delicious offerings that connect with our audience. And consumers’ receptiveness when we launch an item endorsed by big brands, like Caribe, reinforces that we are on the right path,” says Priscilla Berbert, Marketing Manager at Nestlé®.

The Caribe panettone is 450 grams and has a suggested price of R$31.99, but can now be found for up to R$72.90 in online stores.
