The presentation of the Queen of Pop is confirmed on May 4th, free to the public, on Copacabana beach

Madonna confirmed this Monday (25/2) the details of her free performance which will take place on May 4th at Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro. The event, which will mark the farewell to “The Celebration” tour, will be the biggest show of the singer’s career and the only trip of the tour to South America.

According to the artist, Rio’s performance will be a thank you to his fans for celebrating more than four decades of his music. The tour also promises a unique experience with a special appearance by Bob the Drag Queen, also known as Calwell Tidicue.

“The confirmation of this show is a great gift for all Madonna fans. It will truly be a unique moment, with one of the most successful musical tours planned in several countries, and the artist has chosen Rio de Janeiro for this great finale “said Luiz Oscar Niermeyer, spokesperson for the production company Bonus Track.

“Much more than a show, we will show the world the impact of this great event, open to the public, held on Copacabana Beach, a setting that dominates the global imagination as an example of natural beauty. Furthermore, it is important to highlight here the countless positive repercussions of this event for the city and for the State, with the increase in Tourism and the Economy”, he added.

Executive Eduardo Tracanella, CMO of Itaú Unibanco, also underlined that the event celebrates the anniversary of the sponsored institution. “We are turning 100 years old and celebrating this date together with our customers in this historic and free Madonna show in Copacabana is something very special and as big as the history of Itaú Unibanco,” he compared.

“Madonna is one of music’s greatest icons, who has always been ahead of her time and has been a pioneer in her art and in building global pop culture. She is also one of the protagonists of our centenary campaign, which we have there’s a lot of talk about what it means to be made for the future, a characteristic of people and companies like ours, timeless, building legacies and leaving positive marks on the lives of millions of people.”

This is the best-selling female artist of all time’s first show in Brazil since 2012.

The event, scheduled for May 4th, will begin at 9.45pm with live coverage on Multishow, TV Globo and Globoplay.
