Alessandro Lima He died this Thursday, 28th, at the age of 54. The musician remained at home eating for more than 10 yearsin Vitória, Espírito Santo, after suffering an aortic aneurysm in 2013. The artist was part of the group Manimal.
The band, which was successful in Brazil and also performed there, was created together with his brother Amaro. He was also a composer and music producer, as well as being the creator of the Rockcongo Movement, a rhythm of Espírito Santo present in the group’s songs.
Formed in 1986, the group also plays other musical genres. Ticumbi, samba, electronic music and reggae are also part of the repertoire.
In addition to the group Manimal, Alexandre was also a member of the group Radio Esperienza, worked in Combatentes da Cidade and Gângsters, was an instrumentalist and cultural agitator for MPB in Espírito Santo and had a solo career. In 2013 he was municipal secretary of Culture in Vitória, before being hospitalized.

The musician fell ill on November 29, 2013, while he was in a meeting to define the end-of-year program in Vitória, Espírito Santo. He received first aid from Luciano Rezende, a doctor who was then mayor.
After the aneurysm, Alexandre underwent surgery and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He fell into a coma after suffering cardiopulmonary arrest.
Feeding through tubes, the artist was hospitalized for 119 days after the aortic aneurysm, returning to the hospital for treatment of pneumonia in 2015. Without moving his arms and legs, he received special care at home.
