The new track, now available on all digital platforms, was the first released from the singer’s upcoming album
Camila Cabello released a chaotic music video this week for her new single, “I LUV IT,” made in collaboration with rapper Playboi Carti. The song available on digital platforms was her first release from her upcoming album, “C XOXO,” which does not yet have a release date.
The music video for “I LUV IT” features several surreal scenes including shooting arrows, wrestling, a car crash, and firing an invisible weapon into a bed, all while the singer vehemently reinforces her love for this reality apocalyptic.
The track was written by Camila Cabello together with executive producer El Guincho, known for working with Rosalia and Billie Eilish, and co-producer Jasper Harris. The clip was directed by Nicolás Méndez, also known as CANADA, in the city of Miami (USA) in early 2023.
“Certain things about the human condition make me feel like I’m in space. The very rare times I’ve had incredible chemistry with someone are one of them. Part of that cocktail is also the emotional drama between you and that person, the chaos , the butterflies, the nerves and the passion. It’s unsustainable, it’s not peaceful and it’s exhausting, but on the other hand… I LOVE IT,” said the artist in a statement sent to the press.
Camila Cabello’s new album
Camila Cabello has posted some hints on social media regarding her upcoming album. Among these, she posted a video of herself having fun in the car to the sound of the first single and appeared at a Miami Heat basketball game wearing a T-shirt with the song’s title.
Furthermore, the public believes that Selena Gomez would be one of the main collaborations on the album after the two released photos in the studio in January this year. The information has not yet been officially confirmed.
In an interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, the singer explained her new creative process and confirmed that it will be a very reflective project: “I feel like this album represents me ‘living my questions,’ sitting in discomfort, knowing there will be no right answer….The writing process started with me sitting alone and returning to the passion of composing, freaking out like a nerd about references, artists and poems.”
