Kiss sold the brand to Swedish group Pophouse
After the announcement of the sale of the catalogue, image and brand of Kiss, Gene Simmons stated that the decision seemed “the natural thing” to do, although it was not in the band’s plans. “Life happens while you are busy making important plans,” he said in an interview with People.
“We were planning our respectful and proud exit into the sunset, because we were on tour, we’ve been touring for half a century.” But Simmons “I didn’t want” to continue doing shows until I was no longer physically able to: “I don’t want to go around with my walker.”

Upon meeting the team at Pophouse, the Swedish group that acquired the catalogue, the band and they ate together and talked about their families, creating a friendship. As a result, the company purchased the entire brand Kiss for an undisclosed amount, according to a press release.
“We’ve all seen boxers and artists who will be in the ring for a long time and get knocked out by some amateur. You don’t want to do that, you want to come out on top. And we did it the right way, with respect and love for the fans,” he explained. Simmons. “If you take a look at Mother Nature, you either evolve or you go extinct.”
The artist did not deliver the values that were negotiated, but assured that “it’s not about that, it’s about enjoying life”. He added, “I’m certainly blessed.”
