Cazuza will be a samba school at Carnival 2025

The artist’s mother, Lucinha Araújo, was enthusiastic about the news of the São Paulo Carnival and promised to bring several locals to the Sambodromo

Lucinha Araújo is delighted with the news that her son Cazuza (1958-1990) will be a member of the Camisa Verde e Branco school at the São Paulo Carnival 2025. The announcement was made on Tuesday (4/9) via the association’s social networks.

“For me it is simply a pleasure to see that, even after more than 30 years, my son is still being played, re-recorded and honored. Today I earn my living. Therefore, as long as I exist, you can pay tributes which I appreciate,” he declared Lucinha in a telephone conversation with F5.

The official launch of the tribute to Cazuza is scheduled for next month, but the association has already anticipated the news: “Prepare yourselves for an avalanche of emotions! The poet is alive in our hearts. Let’s go together, with determination and passion”, the school wrote on Instagram.

The poet lives!

20 years ago, Cazuza was honored by the Santa Cruz Academic Access Group School during the Rio Carnival. But now, according to Lucinha, the emotions will be renewed at the Sambodromo Anhembi, in Sao Paulo.

“Even though I am 87 years old, I will be at the parade. I help the association and I love Carnival. Even if it is in Sao Paulo, I will make sure that the locals come in droves”, guaranteed the mother of the eternal Exaggerated Poet .
