After making an excerpt available on his networks, the multi-platinum British singer Zayn today he presents his new single, Alienated.
The artist spoke about the song: “I don’t know how to define the genre. I don’t want to say it’s country, because I don’t think it’s country. I think it’s more my version of blues. You can’t define it in a genre, they’re influenced by other music.”
The song joins the one already presented What area song taken from his highly anticipated fourth studio album, BASEMENT ROOM, which arrives May 17, 2024 via Mercury Records. The tracklist of the new work can also be seen here. For the past six years, Zayn has been writing and creating the album in his home studio in rural Pennsylvania, USA.
Marking his most personal release to date, this album reflects where he is in life and explores the complexities surrounding healing, stillness and growth. The artist, who masters several genres, also explores a new sound, relying on her soul music-influenced voice, live instrumentation and lyricism.
