Singer O Juh, who went viral with the single “Cacto” in homage to Juliette in “Big Brother Brazil”, continues his meteoric rise. Owner of a contagious voice, the artist has gained millions of views on social media and now stands out in a new project: the TikTok and Instagram soap opera “Dois Pedaços”.
O Juh’s success began with the song “Cacto”, a tribute to Juliette Freire during her participation in “Big Brother Brasil”. The song won over not only the public, but also the media—which reflected the tribute in programs such as “Fantástico” and MG1 on the Globo network—and even Juliette herself, who praised it on her social networks. The singer’s talent also attracted the attention of influencer Reeh Augusto, creator of the soap opera “Dois Pedaços”, who asked the artist to compose the project’s theme song.
“Reeh contacted me on social media and was clear, she said she wanted a song with a six o’clock soap opera feel. From there I started studying the theme and “Dois Pedaços” came out. The look positive of this work is that some songs really suit me as an artist “Dois Pedaços”, for example, will be in my next project, because it corresponds to my original work”, explains O Juh.
With more than 700 thousand streams on music apps and known for his work in music, Juh created an innovative project with the aim of creating musical hits based on a short brief. With the information, the artist has a “menu” of music distributed to the customer quickly and conveniently via Instagram or WhatsApp. This way the composer can have a more practical idea of what the contractor expects. Since the creation of the song “on demand”, O Juh has met the world of influencers and consequently Reeh Augusto, author of “Dois Pedaços”, who commissioned him to write a song “with the atmosphere of a six o’clock soap opera”.
A success on streaming platforms, O Juh is now aimed at the general public. Starting from May, the singer begins to present the news of his new musical project, an album with 10 new songs which will arrive on the platforms in the second half of the year. “I’m really looking forward to presenting this new work of mine. It’s different from anything I’ve ever done, with my origins in rock, and at the same time completely my own style,” says O Juh.
The singles from the new project will be released monthly starting in May. “The album is all structured and is coming along really well. In addition to ‘Dois Pedaços’ and ‘Looping Infinito’, I will release a single month by month until September, when the full album arrives. The idea is that the public will be able to get to know more of my charismatic and personal side and be part of this new moment in my career,” he adds.
The soap opera
“Dois Pedaços” is an innovative project that brings together the big names of the Internet in a compelling and entertaining plot. The story, which already has more than 12 million views, is a period soap opera that tells the story of the characters. In addition to composing the tracks, O Juh was invited by the author to join the cast of the plot.
In the soap opera, O Juh plays the character of the father of one of the protagonists, Anabel, daughter of Alda, played by Reeh Augusto himself. The singer’s acting talent surprised everyone and received a lot of praise from the audience.
