KPOP: ADOR CEO accuses HYBE of not promoting NewJeans

The CEO of Worshiperthe agency responsible for the K-pop group’s career New Jeansheld a press conference in Seoul, South Korea this Thursday (25) to demonstrate that the HYBE he failed to promote the group.

According to the Korea Times, Min Hee Jin showed conversations on messaging app KakaoTalk between her, HYBE CEO Park Ji-won and president Bang Si-hyuk.

“[HYBE] told me I couldn’t promote NewJeans or talk publicly about the group because they needed to promote Le Sserafim,” Min said.

“They didn’t let me promote NewJeans as Min Hee-jin’s first girl group because they wanted to intentionally confuse people. NewJeans was the one that was supposed to debut first, but they didn’t keep their promise and debuted with Le Sserafim, with members Sakura and Kim Chae-won added to the list“, he has declared.

It is worth mentioning that HYBE filed a police complaint against executives of its subsidiary Ador, including CEO Min Hee-jin, for alleged breach of trust.

Earlier this week, HYBE asked a test after detecting signs of an attempt to separate Ador from its parent company. Acting quickly, HYBE secured access to the branch’s computers and digital files and conducted in-person interviews with employees to gather first-hand testimonies.

The evidence presented showed that Ador’s CEO instructed the agency’s management to pressure HYBE to sell its stake in the subsidiary. HYBE holds an 80% stake in Ador, while Min is the second largest shareholder with an 18% stake.

“They were carefully crafted to fit a specific agenda. In the workplace, I think it’s natural for employees to express frustration if they don’t like their supervisors or their jobs… To understand why such comments were made, it’s It is necessary to listen to the whole story and not cut out parts conveniently”, THEsigned the CEO.

Min said she felt abandoned by HYBE. “I am curious about their intention to package casual conversations as something so serious as to defame me.”he concluded.

The group’s release is scheduled for May 24th. HYBE said in a statement that it will support its artists.

“There have been no changes to the comeback schedule yet. HYBE will do its best to support the artists,” the agency said.
