Anitta releases new album: “It marks my trajectory as a person and artist”


A collection of 15 songs was released in the early hours of Friday 26th and features the collaboration with British singer Sam Smith.

Singer Anita released his new album in the early hours of this Friday the 26th. Funky generation in a 15-track production that continues the foundations of his career born in the dances of Rio de Janeiro. On social media, Anitta said she was happy to see funk as a source of inspiration in Brazil and around the world. “This project brings nuances of this Brazilian musical genre 100% and marks my trajectory as a person and artist,” she wrote in English.

“Funk is part of the culture of the inhabitants of Brazilian favelas, where I come from. It has been deemed useless and even associated with organized crime. A reflection of the class prejudice and racism that haunts our society,” he added.

The album contains songs in English, Spanish and Portuguese, some already known and appreciated, such as Play for the moonin collaboration with Dennis and Pedro Sampaio, e FunkRave and some highly anticipated news, such as his collaboration with the British singer Sam Smith in the lane Ouch.

The singer also announced it at the beginning of the month his first world tour in which he promises to “spread the energy of Brazilian funk” throughout the world. The season of shows entitled Baile Funk Experience it will pass through 13 countries: United States, Canada, Peru, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, France, Spain and Italy.

The first show will take place on May 18th in Mexico City, Mexico, and the last one will be in Ibiza, Spain on July 8th. Ticket sales have already started.
