Rio security officers are carrying out a sweep to find items buried in the sand ahead of the singer’s mega event in Copacabana
The Secretariat of Public Order (September) carried out Operation Tatuí in the early hours of this Friday (5/3) on Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro. The purpose of the fine tooth comb is to find objects buried in the sand before Madonna’s show on Saturday (4/5).
According to information from g1, officers found three knives, a frying pan, some pots, 32 bottles of water and 70 coconuts hidden in the area. Furthermore, four tons of waste were removed.
The Integrated Mobile Command and Control Center of the Military Police will also be used to carry out a patrol in Praça do Lido, which is located next to the luxury Copacabana Palace hotel.
In total, Copacabana will be patrolled by 3,200 police officers, while the show will have 64 vehicles and a further 65 observation towers at its disposal. The mega event will also have drones and facial recognition cameras that will work with a database program for wanted and fugitives from justice.
