The singer surprised fans by revealing that she will be taking a break from the stage and announced that she will play her last shows in Sao Paulo to help the victims of the Rio Grande do Sul tragedy: ‘Resignify this moment’
Sandy will be taking a break from her career, but in a very special and necessary way. Through her Instagram, the singer announced that she will perform two shows in June, in the city of Sao Paulo, and that all proceeds from ticket sales will go to donations to benefit the victims of the catastrophe that hit Rio Grande do Sul .
“I come here to join these thousands of hearts gripped by so much sadness for all this devastation in Rio Grande do Sul. I have already helped several times, I have already made some donations, I have also shared many ways to help, but I felt that I could do more more and that I had to do more and that I had to do more,” he said at the beginning of the video.
“I was about to announce two concert dates, because I wanted to announce that I will take a break, a break from the stage, but I wanted to greet my audience better, I wanted to be close, I wanted to give my audience a strong sonic hug and I decided to give new meaning to this moment, so I will donate all proceeds from ticket sales for the two shows to this cause,” he added.
“We are seeing, my team and I, the best way for this help to arrive effectively and we will do it. […] The shows are in Sao Paulo and those who cannot attend are looking for a way to help. Together we are stronger!”, she concluded.
In the caption he also explained a little more about his farewell to the stage: “Calm down, I won’t disappear completely. It was just supposed to be a kind of ‘farewell show’ with my long-time fans. But my heart asked to give a new meaning to this moment. Therefore, this strong embrace from my audience will turn into donations to our brothers who are in great need of our help. And I know, my dear fans, that you will be very happy to be part of it.”
Although it was a big surprise, fans were proud of Sandy’s attitude: “How beautiful your attitude is. What a shame about the break in your career, you are very necessary in art, your songs are real poetry, not disappear,” one person wrote in the comments. “How nice, such generosity, but when you talk about the breakup you have already pointed out a pain here,” said another.
