Mayor Eduardo Paes highlighted the suspension by saying that the company must be respectful of the citizens of Rio and the electoral process
Producer Live Nation has suspended this Thursday (5/9) the sale of tickets for the Bruno Mars shows in Rio de Janeiro, which would have taken place on October 4 and 5. The events were canceled after the Municipality did not authorize them to take place on the eve of the elections, scheduled for the 6th.
Mayor Eduardo Paes justified that the request for public employees, especially in the security forces, would be incompatible with holding large events during the election period. He also points out that the company responsible was informed of the restriction on the same day it announced the first presentation.
On X (formerly Twitter), the producer informed that he will try to “find a solution” to promote Bruno Mars’ performances in the state of Rio. It is worth mentioning that tickets for October 4th are sold out on the online sales platform.
“We will work closely with the mayor’s office to find a solution for fans. All pre-sale and on-sale information will be released soon along with updates on event dates,” Live Nation wrote.
Paes also spoke this morning after the suspension of sales: “They are starting to understand. Here there is respect for the citizens and for the electoral process. And there is also command. It’s no man’s land. I’m sure Bruno Mars will come to Rio to the delight of its many fans. Only at the right time!”.
