Last Wednesday (8), a year has passed since Rita Lee’s death and her partner revealed that he was working to put together the new lyrics left by the singer.
“I’m still trying to figure out what he left behind. There’s a lot of things. I found a notebook full of them the other day.“, he has declared.
“I love these verses“, said Roberto. In one of the excerpts, Rita wrote: “Of the God that I doubted, of the yes / Of the deaths that I have experienced, of the afterlife / Of the vices that I have become hostage / Of the animals that I am, feline / In the old woman that I am, girl”.
Ego it must be one of the first texts that will become music, published in the book Rita Lee: An Autobiography, by 2016.
Roberto’s collection contains countless unpublished materials, which could be released in the future. These are unofficial recordings of Rita, i.e. leftovers and rehearsals on demo tapes that have never been shown.
“Things will be fine, but I’m still in this rollercoaster process.”, Carvalho said. “At the same time that I know that I have to do these things, that the shows will be good for me, I may not be able to decide whether or not I should leave the room.”
