AC/DC reveals new band lineup before tour begins

Brazil was not included in the Power Up Tour

O AC DC revealed the band’s new lineup shortly before the start of their first tour in eight years. In a post on Instagram, the group showed a photo of a rehearsal in the studio. “In the studio, preparing for the Power Up Tour“, says the caption.

Brian Johnson (vocals) and Angus Young (lead guitar) are classic members. Stevie Young (guitar) and Matt Laug (drums) are more recent members, while Chris Chaney (bass) is new.

Young is the nephew of Angus and has played with AC DC a few years ago. Initially, it replaced Malcolm Young when he was diagnosed with dementia. Malcolm passed away in 2017, when Steve became a permanent member of the band.

Laug made his debut with the Australian group at the festival PowerTrip last year, after the drummer Phil Rudd stating that he would not perform with the band.

Already Chaney is known for playing with the Jane’s Addiction. He took the place of Cliff Williams following his retirement from touring.

Johnson, in turn, took a break in 2016 due to hearing problems. At the time, he was replaced by Axl Rose.

To date, Brazil has not been included in the Power Up Toura tour that covers the album of the same name released in 2020. It will start on May 17th and end in August, in Europe.
