The new work features the Senegalese Abass Ndiaye who sings in the Wolof dialect
Mixing rhythms and cultures, Napalma, a Brazilian band based in Berlin, Germany, announced their new EP this week Drive safely (LONA Music). The EP features Senegalese singer Abass Ndiaye singing in Wolof – a dialect spoken in Senegal, Gambia and Mauritania -, remixes from international producers and the music video for “Drive Safe”, a video which is also part of the art installation of the artist “Brain /City”. Israeli contemporary Yaron Steinberg, made with AI-generated characters, bringing the cityscape to life.
Perfect for dance floors, Drive safely it blends pulsating rhythms and brings cross-cultural synergy, a trademark of NAPALMA, a band that has been living in Germany for years and previously visited some African countries. There are five tracks, including the original mix, the instrumental mix and three remixes created by producers DJ Panko (Ojos de Brujo) from Spain, Mista Monk from Australia and Infrared from France.
