Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, the critically praised film makes reference to American political-military disputes

Known as the “king of terror”, Stephen King He is one of the most acclaimed writers of recent decades. Many of his stories were adapted for film and became classics, such as The Shining (1980), Carrie the Stranger (with two adaptations, in 1973 and 2013) and, more recently, It: The Thing (2017).

Also aware of film and series releases (whether horror or other genres), King stated that a recent launch of Netflix It’s “terrifying.” The production in question is Dynamite Housewhich opened in theaters on October 9th and arrived on the streaming platform last Friday, the 24th.

The film follows the investigation that began after American radars detected a nuclear missile that will hit Chicago. The authorities have limited time to prevent the attack, and therefore the story takes place in just 18 minutes.

“Radars at Fort Greely, Alaska, detect a nuclear missile. The president and his entourage must use the limited time they have to try to shoot down the missile before it hits Chicago,” the synopsis says.

With approval from 79% of critics on Rotten Tomatoesthe film is described as an “intense journey” into one of the most disastrous scenarios the US could face. In a post on social network X, King reported that the film made him think about the current political scenario, especially the president’s actions donald trump (via Screenrant). Look:

What else do we know about Dynamite House

Over the course of almost two hours of film, the viewer watches three chapters that present different points of view of what happened: the White House Situation Room, the US Strategic Command (STRATCOM) and the President of the United States.

The film reached the ranking of Top 2 most watched films in Brazil on Saturday, 25th. The script is by Noah Oppenheimand the cast stars Rebecca Ferguson (Dune), Anthony Ramos (In a New York Neighborhood), Idris Elba (Luther: Nightfall), Greta Lee (Past Lives), Gabriel Basso (Once upon a dream), Willa Fitzgerald (Dead End Route), Jared Harris (Chernobyl) and Kaitlyn Dever (Ticket to Paradise).

The controversial ending sparked discussions among viewers on social media. For the director, however, the absence of an obvious resolution is an invitation for public reflection — and according to the Golden Derbythe film is among the most highly rated for nomination to the Oscar of Best Film.
