Sandy sells out tickets for benefit shows in less than 24 hours

The artist will use all proceeds from the performances to help flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul

Singer Sandy sold out tickets in less than 24 hours for the two charity shows she will hold on June 15 and 16 at Espaço Unimed, in Sao Paulo. All proceeds will be donated to help the victims of the Rio Grande do Sul floods. Furthermore, the exhibitions will mark an indefinite pause in the artist’s career.

Last Tuesday (5/7), Sandy announced on her Instagram profile that 100% of the proceeds from the shows would go to the victims of the Rio Grande do Sul tragedy “I stop to join these thousands of hearts broken with so much sadness, with all this devastation in Rio Grande do Sul I have already helped several times, I made some donations, I also shared many ways to help, but I felt that I could – and should – do more”, he wrote on social media.

Sandy had planned to announce a hiatus from the stage, but wanted to turn the moment into a more meaningful farewell for her audience. “I was going to announce two show dates, because I wanted to announce that I’m going to take a break, a break from the stage. But I wanted to say a better goodbye to my audience. I wanted to be close, give my audience a big sonic hug, and I decided to give new meaning to this moment, so I will donate all the income I earn from ticket sales for both shows to this cause.”

He also reassured his fans, clarifying that the farewell to the stage is only temporary: “Calm down, I won’t disappear completely! It was just supposed to be a sort of ‘farewell show’ with my old fans.” But my heart was asking to give a new meaning to this moment.”
