Bruce Springsteen postpones tour shows due to vocal problems; understand


Shows in European cities will be rescheduled; The American musician’s team said the firing had been recommended by doctors, but did not detail the problem

Bruce Springsteen, 74 years old, has postponed the show he would have performed on Saturday 25th in Marseille, France. It’s not the only postponement. Upon medical recommendation, the “The boss” he had to reschedule three more performances on his planned European tour.

“After yesterday’s referral to Marseille due to vocal problems, further tests and consultations led the doctors to decide that Bruce is not scheduled to perform for the next ten days“, we read in a statement on social media by the singer and the E Street Band, a band that has accompanied him in performances since 1999.

The vocal problems were not detailed by the musician’s team. The canceled presentations would have taken place in Prague, Czech Republic, on Tuesday 28th, and in Milan, Italy, from 1st to 3rd June. According to the release, the new dates will be announced soon. The tour will resume on June 12 in Madrid, Spain.

Springteen’s European tour has already yielded illustrious encounters. On Thursday 23rd he became the first musician from outside the UK to win the music award at the Ivor Novello Awards. The trophy came from the hands of Gentleman Paul McCartneywhich he took advantage of make fun of Americans.

With more than 140 million albums sold and author of hits such as Born in the USA and born to runReleased in the ’70s and ’80s, Springsteen captured the disillusionment with the “American Dream” of the country’s working class.

McCartney, however, did not spare him traditional English humor. “He’s known as a working-class American, but he admitted he’s never worked a day in his life,” he said. The American took it calmly.
